A STORYLIFE™ INITIATIVE
The HumAIn© Project
A movement to realign AI as a force that amplifies human talent — not replaces it.
The human voice
was here first.
HUMAN-CENTRIC · AI-AUGMENTED · INDIVIDUALLY-NEGOTIATED
AI did not create the voice that moves a listener to tears. It did not develop the hand that has spent twenty years learning how to render light on a page. Those things came from a human being — a person who trained, struggled, and mastered a craft.
The HumAIn© Project was built on a simple belief: generative technology is most powerful when it is tethered to a living creator. Not trained on stolen data. Not built to make human talent obsolete. Built to extend it — to carry a voice artist's performance into twenty audiobooks she never had time to record, to bring an illustrator's signature into covers she was never hired for.
StoryLife™ is building the HumAIn© standard: a creative ecosystem where every AI output carries the legal, economic, and artistic weight of its human origin. Where the artist is not a footnote — they are the foundation.
"AI should make human talent more valuable, not less. We intend to prove it."
StoryLife™—Our Three Commitments to Talent
Fair Attribution
Every output produced under the HumAIn© standard is traceable to the creator whose voice or style trained it. AI is never anonymous inside our ecosystem. Credit is not a courtesy — it is architecture.
Talent-Linked AI
We train exclusively through direct partnerships. No scraped datasets. No anonymous inputs. The AI's capability is a direct extension of a named, consenting creator — and that creator participates in every dollar it earns.
Right to Withdraw
Creators retain the off-switch. At any point, a talent may revoke their license — triggering a mandatory forgetting cycle that removes their data from the model. Their participation is always a choice, never a contract without an exit.
The Year I Watched AI Read My Own Audiobooks.
"I had spent twelve years building a voice. Not just technically — tonally. I knew how to hold a pause before a revelation. I knew how to let grief breathe. Then a publisher sent me an AI-narrated sample and asked if I could 'match that sound.' It was my sound. They had trained on my back catalog without asking."
Vivienne Caldwell
Voice Artist, 14 Years
That moment broke something in me — not just professionally, but in my sense of what my career even was. I had assumed my craft was mine. That it was protected by the effort it took to build it. I was wrong, and no one had told me the rules had changed.
What followed was a year of watching job postings disappear. Not dramatically. Quietly. One audiobook contract at a time. Publishers weren't announcing that they were switching to AI voices. They were just… not renewing. The budgets looked the same. The fees had moved elsewhere.
I was introduced to The HumAIn© Project through a colleague who had been approached by StoryLife™. The pitch was simple: give us one hour of high-fidelity recordings. We'll train a model that sounds like you — and you'll earn from every output it produces, whether or not you were in the booth that day.
For the first time in a year, someone was talking about AI as something that could work for me. Not around me. Not instead of me. I signed within a week.
The HumAIn© Earnings Fund
StoryLife™ built a compensation model that removes the complexity of per-use tracking and guarantees that every secured talent earns — whether or not their AI profile was called upon this month.
Revenue Flows In
Each month, 20% of HumAIn© revenue is deposited directly into the HumAIn© Earnings Fund — before any other allocation. The fund grows with every audiobook narrated, every illustration styled, every story told.
The Surcharge Addition
When a request can't be fulfilled by a secured biological talent, we satisfy it with a non-biological AI output — but the author pays 10% more. That surcharge goes entirely into the Fund, turning every non-biological use into a contribution back to human talent.
Quarterly Disbursement
Every quarter, the Fund pays out. 70% is split equally among all secured talents — your guaranteed floor. 30% rewards the top three most-requested profiles that quarter. As revenue grows, disbursement moves to monthly.

What We Believe: A Living Document
"The HumAIn© standard is not a technology. It is a set of promises — made to artists, enforced by contract, and designed to survive every market shift that AI will bring to the creative industries over the next decade."
Human-Centric
Every AI output under the HumAIn© standard begins with a human being. Not a dataset. Not a scraped archive. A named person who has consented to participate, reviewed the terms of their involvement, and holds the right to exit at any time. The human is not the source material — they are the author. The AI is the pen.
AI-Augmented
At StoryLife™, we do not oppose artificial intelligence, but we insist it be used correctly. AI that trains on consent, attributes output, and returns economic value to the creator it learned from is AI that earns its place in the creative economy. We are building the infrastructure to make that possible — not someday, but now, with a small founding circle of voice artists and illustrators who will prove the model works.
Individually-Negotiated
No blanket licenses. No one-size agreements. Every talent in the HumAIn© Project enters a relationship with StoryLife™ on terms they have reviewed and accepted. The HumAIn© Earnings Fund is transparent by design — talent can see what went in, how it was split, and what changed each quarter. Loyalty is earned through clarity, not contracts written to obscure.
Your craft deserves to outlast any algorithm.
StoryLife™ is currently accepting applications for five voice artists and five illustrators. Founding members receive priority placement, maximum Fund weighting, and the title of HumAIn© Founding Talent.
Commitment: one hour of high-fidelity recordings or original artwork samples.
